 **********

"I took the mPEAK class with Sasha and Kate and it was the most powerful class I have taken. The material and content were great but the real impact was from both Sasha and Kate's presence. You feel both inspired and heard from their interactions. They walk the walk. My performances have improved since taking the class and I feel I can catch "flow" more often with my runs/swims!!! I also learned more about myself in the process."

- Kyle, Triathlete, Health and Wellness Coach, Personal Trainer

"Sasha and Kate are incredible facilitators and the mPEAK experience has been the missing piece for the tailored clinical services I provide patients and my own high-performance journey. Through the course, I was able to learn and integrate mindfulness-based concepts that support greater awareness, resilience, flow, and balance. I have found myself using the wisdom gained from the program and teachings on a daily basis, as well as sharing them with clients. I look forward to becoming an mPEAK coach in the near future and have Sasha and Kate to thank for such a meaningful, intensive experience."

Whether you are an athlete, artist, parent, business professional, or simply want to participate in a program that brings together the latest neuroscience and mindfulness training to enable you to be at your best, please join us by registering for the mPEAK program.

This is a 3 day intensive course in mindfulness training for those who seek to draw upon this proven practice to achieve their goals, both personal and professional, as well as attain new levels of performance and success. This cutting-edge training program is built around the latest brain research related to peak performance, resilience, focus, and “flow”. The mPEAK program enhances the human capacity of mindfulness through established and empirically supported practices and exercises, tailored to fit the needs and desires of the team, organization or individual. Mindfulness is effective precisely because it is a way of being and relating to all aspects of life, rather than a specific technique or tool for a particular goal. As with physical training, this brain training program is based upon the understanding that optimal outcomes occur most often when participants continue to engage in the practices and exercises on a daily basis as a part of their training regimen. The foundation of this program is drawn from the highly respected and empirically-supported Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program. Additionally, the program incorporates specific practices and exercises formulated to correspond to recent neuroscientific findings, competitive advances, and related research regarding optimal performance.

During this period, students are invited to engage in their own personal meditation practice, no guidance or spoken directions will be given. Yoga mats, blankets, bolsters, blocks, and chairs are available for your use. You may also bring your own cushions. Sitting or lying down postures are invited. Following the meditation, there will be an optional period of time to ask questions and share observations about the practice with instructor, Kate Reynolds. Santa Fe Vipassana Sangha presents mindfulness for the whole family!

Practicing mindfulness in community (sangha) helps to reduce stress and reset our intentions. Kids (generally ages 4-12)  join seasoned teachers in a separate space to enjoy learning about mindfulness through friendly activities such as snacking, moving, and crafting. At the same time, parents fine tune their imperfect meditation practices, commiserate on their imperfect parenting, and enjoy quality down time aimed at helping us recover our true inspiration and compassionate relationship skills.

Please note that "parents" and "family" are defined in the broadest terms, anybody who is, or ever has been, in any kind of a caretaking relationship is invited to participate! You do not have to bring kids to join in the adult practice.

Donations (Dana) gladly accepted.

No prior registration required. Please send an email to hello@familysangha.org to be added to the monthly online Paperless Post invitation list.

No experience necessary, everybody is welcome!

mPEAK: 8 week course SOLD OUT

Whether you are an athlete, business professional, or simply want to participate in a program that brings together the latest neuroscience and mindfulness training to enable you to be at your best, please join us by registering for the mPEAK program.

mPEAK is an 8-week course in mindfulness training for those who seek to draw upon this proven practice to achieve their goals, both personal and professional, as well as attain new levels of performance and success.

Cost: $250.00

This course is sold out.

Stay tuned for the Winter 2019 Registration

An engaging talk with William Powers from his new book: Dispatches from the Sweet Life

The Santa Fe Center for Mindfulness is happy to co-host William Powers, author of the "green living" bestseller Twelve by Twelve and New Slow City, will read from his new book, Dispatches from the Sweet Life, followed by a discussion and  book signing at Collected Works Bookstore.

Dispatches from the Sweet Life: One Family, Five Acres, and A Community's Quest to Reinvent the World (September, 2018)

Many people fantasize about dramatically changing their lives — living in accordance with their ideals rather than the exigencies of job, bills, and possessions. William Powers actually does it. In his first book, Twelve by Twelve, Powers lived in an off-grid tiny house in rural North Carolina. In New Slow City, he and his wife, Melissa, inhabited a Manhattan micro-apartment in search of slow in the fastest city in the world. Here, the couple, with baby in tow, search for balance, humanity, and happiness in Suraqueta, Bolivia. They build an adobe house beside a prolific orchard and organic garden and weave their life into the community of permaculturists, bio-builders, beer brewers, artists, and creative businesspeople. Can this transition town succeed in the face of encroaching North American capitalism, and can Powers and the other settlers find the balance they’re seeking? Dispatches from the Sweet Life is compelling, thought-provoking, and, no matter the outcome, inspirational.
